Malta’s Application and Current Status
Earlier this year, the Malta Esports Association, in collaboration with the GamingMalta Foundation and the Malta Football Association, submitted a comprehensive application to become an official National Team Partner for the Esports Nations Cup. As part of this process, a National Team Manager was also nominated to oversee Malta’s participation.
Unfortunately, for this inaugural edition of the competition, Malta was not selected as a National Team Partner, nor was a National Team Manager appointed. Instead, Maltese representatives will fall under the direct management of a Regional Manager within the Esports World Cup Foundation.
While this outcome is disappointing, it does not close the door for Maltese players. On the contrary, eligibility remains open. Players and teams can still qualify and be selected based on official rankings and performance.
This means that Malta’s esports talent still has a clear path to the international stage—one that depends purely on skill, dedication, and results.
