Malta competes in the 15th World Esports Championship, held in Iasi, Romania between the 25th August and the 3rd of September 2023. Malta competes in the eFootball and the Tekken 7 categories.

The National Selection for eFootball was organised through a one-day National Qualifier held at Esports Plaza in Sliema on the 4th March 2023.
Malcolm “FantiFlames” Said won the national qualifier.
Tekken 7
The Tekken 7 national selection adopted a different selection process, which was through a series of connected circuit events. The National Circuit: Tekken is a year long circuit that awards points to affiliated tournaments using a number of criteria.
After six tournaments, all organised by Level Academy, it was determined that Lyon “Lyonidas” Buhagiar would represent Malta in the World Championship 2023 as he acquired the most points until the cut-off point: end of March 2023.
